Low Cost Auto Insurance Program

Since state laws require that all drivers be insured, the Low Cost Auto Insurance Program was created to provide affordable auto insurance coverage for those who are drivers with low income and good driving records. This program was designed to assist those who cannot afford auto insurance coverage and remain uninsured because they cannot afford the costs of liability auto insurance coverage.

Not everyone will qualify for the program. Each state’s low cost auto insurance program has its own eligibility requirements. In some states, the program is available in a few counties only where insurance rates may be increased due to high traffic or high loss areas.

For example, in California, the low cost program is available in the following counties:
Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, Monterey, Merced, Santa Barbara, Sonoma, Tulare and Ventura.

Aside from living in the above mentioned counties, you must qualify as a low income driver. For one individual driver, the income must not exceed $25,525. For two drivers, the income must not exceed $34,225 and on.
The low cost auto insurance program also is available for “good drivers” only which are drivers with no more than one at fault accident or more than one point from violations on their driving records. Drivers must also be continuously licensed for the past three years.

In order to sign up for the program, you must first see if your state offers the low cost auto insurance program. You can contact your State’s department of insurance for more information.

If you do not qualify for the low cost auto insurance program, you can still obtain reasonable auto insurance quotes by comparing multiple auto insurance rates from top companies in order to ensure a competitive auto insurance quote.

Car insurance quotes can be obtained from OnlineAutoInsurance.com with one simple process. Feel free to obtain as many auto insurance quotes as you wish.
